A broken tile does not look like much from the driveway. What it actually is, is an opening straight onto the timber and insulation underneath. We locate every broken and deteriorated tile on the roof and replace them with tiles matched for age and colour.
Perth tile roofs are walked on by aerial installers, solar crews, painters and pest inspectors. Most of the cracked tiles we find were stood on by someone who never mentioned it.
Tiles crack under weight in the wrong spot, take a hit from a branch in a storm, or simply reach the end of their life and start to delaminate and crumble.
Terracotta and concrete both do it, and a hairline crack is enough. Water does not need much of a gap.
Replacements are matched for age and colour, not just profile. A brand new tile in the middle of a twenty year old roof stands out, and getting the match right is the difference between a repair you can see and one you cannot.
If the roof is going to be coated afterwards the colour matters less, and we will tell you that rather than hunt for a perfect match you are about to paint over.
Straightforward work that depends entirely on finding all of it, not just the tile you spotted.
We go over the full roof rather than just the section you pointed at, because broken tiles come in groups where someone has walked a line across it.
Not only the obviously broken tiles. Tiles that have started to delaminate or crumble are on their way out and get picked up now rather than next winter.
Broken and deteriorated tiles come out and are replaced with tiles of similar age and colour, bedded and sitting correctly with the surrounding tiles.
A tile that has been broken a while usually means water has already been getting in. We check the sarking and timber underneath and tell you what we find.
Broken tile is taken away, and the roof and gutters are cleared of the fragments rather than leaving them to block a downpipe.
Tile replacement is priced per job, because two cracked tiles and a roof where someone has walked a line across thirty of them are not the same job. A full roof restoration includes up to twenty tile changes, which is often the better answer if the roof needs the rest of it anyway. The onsite look is free and the quote is written.
Our guarantee covers defects in our materials and workmanship for 15 years from the day the job is finished. Plain terms, on our warranty page.
We work right across the Perth metro, north and south of the river. These suburbs have a page of their own: South Perth, Applecross, Ascot, Baldivis, Canning Vale, Joondalup, Midland, Wanneroo. If yours is not listed we almost certainly still get there, so ask and we will tell you straight away.
"Mati and Ryan did a fantastic job and I can't believe how wonderful my roof looks! Tiles replaced, ridge capping repaired, painted and sealed, plus extra jobs done at the last minute!"
"Awesome job. Great at communications and really looks after his clients. Rare to find people who will do their job and provide proper support these days. Killi is definitely one of them."
"Mati and his team did a great job on my roof. He was so busy but promised he would have it done by Christmas and he did. So happy with his work. Would highly recommend this company."
Usually, yes. We match for age and colour rather than just profile, and there is a good supply of second hand tiles in Perth for exactly this reason. If your profile has genuinely become unobtainable we will tell you before you are committed.
One is enough to let water in. The number matters for the quote, not for whether it needs doing.
Yes. A tile that has been broken for a while has usually been letting water onto the sarking and timber underneath, and that is worth knowing about before it becomes a ceiling repair.
Up to twenty tile changes are included in a full restoration, along with the clean, the ridge work and the coating. If your roof needs all of that, the restoration is better value than paying for tiles on their own.
We come out, get on the roof and tell you whether it needs replacing or whether a restoration will do. If restoring will hold, that is what we will quote, and it is the cheaper job.
