Every full restoration runs the same six steps, in the same order. No shortcuts, no skipped ridge work, no coating over faults.
We get on the roof and look at all of it: tiles, ridge caps, valleys, flashings. You get a straight report on what it needs and what it doesn't. If your roof doesn't need restoring, we say so.
Years of moss, lichen and grime come off under high pressure, and the clean shows us any faults hiding underneath. Coating only holds on a properly clean roof, so this step never gets rushed.
Cracked and broken tiles are swapped for sound ones before anything gets sealed. We match the profile so the roof stays uniform. No tile gets coated over a fault.
Where the old bedding has failed, ridge caps come off and get re-bedded, then re-pointed with flexible pointing that moves with the roof instead of cracking. It's the step cheap quotes skip, and the reason old roofs leak at the ridges.
The roof gets a coat of primer surfacer, then two coats of Dulux roofing membrane in a colour you choose. Applied to the manufacturer's spec, so the coating lasts and the guarantee means something.
We walk the finished job with you, hand over the 15-year guarantee in writing, and leave the place tidy. If anything needs attention down the track, you call the bloke who did the job, not a call centre.
A tile restoration and a metal restoration share a name and not much else. We do both, each the way it's meant to be done.
Tiles rarely wear out, but the surface and the mortar holding the ridges do. Concrete tiles lose their coating and go porous. Terracotta holds its glaze, but the ridge bedding underneath still fails with age.
So a tile restoration lives in the detail work: broken tiles replaced, every ridge cap re-bedded and re-pointed where it's failed, then the whole roof sealed and coated so it sheds water like it did on day one. The structure stays. The roof works again.
Metal is a different trade. Fasteners work loose and rust, so the screw lines get checked and replaced where needed before anything cosmetic happens. Rust is treated and primed, never coated over, because paint on top of corrosion just hides the problem.
Then the roof is coated with systems made for metal, not tile paint on a metal roof. Sheets that are past saving get called out honestly, and if the roof needs replacing instead, we tell you that too.
